At The Wooden Dragon Toy Company, we are concerned for you child's safety.
When we design and create our toys, we think
about how children will play them and what
could go wrong. For example, all our our
toy swords are created with glue instead
of nails - it makes them safer if they are
ever struck hard enough to break. All our
our paints and colors are non-toxic, and
while we don't recommend letting your child
chew on them, we know it happens and we want
you kids to be safe (we can't vouch for the
taste, though!).
This is one of the things that we truly feel
set us apart from the other folks who cheaply
sell knock-offs of our toys. They may be
cheaper, but that doesn't make them better...
or safer. We consider our part in helping
your child to grow their imagination to be
a privilege and take our roll providing safe
toys very seriously.
PLEASE NOTE: While we make our toys as safe as possible,
we do ask you to use common sense with your
children and how they play. Many of our toys
come with a recommendation that you supervise
your child while at play. While they won't
cut themselves with one our our toys swords,
that doesn't mean they should be encourage,
or even allowed, to swing or bang away when
other kids are around. We do everything we
can to do our part to watch out for your
kids and ask you do your part, as well.
If you ever have a question or suggestion
about one of our toys, before or after
a
sale, we encourage you to send us a
note.
We do want to hear from you and will
do our
best to answer any and all questions.
Thanks -

Some common safety questions and answers:
Question: My child is still of the
age where
he sometimes chews his toys. Is this
safe?
Answers: We did a lot of research on this one and
selected Krylon Kid's Tuff paints for our
toys. For this question, we went to the maker
of our paints for an answer to this questions.
Here is what Krylon says about their Kids' tuff paint, which
is what we use on painted products.
|
The Krylon Kid's Tuff is made specifically
for children's furniture, cribs, and
toys.
Krylon does not manufacture a paint
coating,
including the Kids Tuff, that is FDA
approved.
We do not perform animal testing and
thus
cannot test for incidental ingestion.
However,
based on results of comparative studies
and
the chemicals used in the Kid's Tuff,
we
know the dry film to be non-toxic (the
sum
of the ingredients used in the Kid's
Tuff
are non-toxic).
An FDA approval is important in terms
of
whether a product film is safe for
incidental
ingestion. We do not want to introduce
large
film particles into the digestion system.
As long as the infant or toddler is
not teething
on the substrate it should not be a
factor.
Most Krylon aerosol paint coatings
are fully
cured in 7 days, depending upon temperature
& humidity. Once cured, the paint
film
is considered inert and is no longer
releasing
toxins or chemicals (the solvent evaporates/flashes
from the film and leaves behind an
inert
film).
If an infant or toddler is teething
(gumming
the finish would not harm the infant
or child),
we do not recommend using the standard
Krylon
paint lines on the substrate. You would
want
to consider using the Kid's Tuff only.
Sincerely,
Krylon Technical Service
